Comments:
This outstanding, craftsman-style blanket chest is made from reclaimed wormy chestnut lumber. It was reclaimed from a barn in Boone, North Carolina. In 1908 the chestnut trees were all attacked by a disease and died. Those trees were harvested and made into structures for settlers in the eastern U.S. Today they are being reclaimed for fine furniture and heirloom pieces. It is cedar-lined and ideal for storing heirloom quilts or other needlework. Enjoy this beautiful heirloom quality blanket chest.
