Stella Schaffert was a gifted quilter and designed some of her own quilts, one of which hangs in the Aurora courthouse. She was the past president of the NE State Quilt Guild and also wrote their newsletter. She was president of the Aurora Nimble Thimble Quilt Guild in 1993-1994 and 2000-2001. She was co-owner of the Sewing Basked Fabric Store in Aurora. She taught quilt classes and was a great promoter of the art of quilting. Her husband, Richard, has donated this quilt to the Camp Carol Hoy Holling Quilt auction.
